Educational Philosophy:
With a deep background in athletics, I draw from what I learned from coaches and teammates to better understand how each individual needs to be motivated and triggered with interest and intrigue. There is no cookie cutter way to teach and mold individuals, it is important that you know each individual. To do this, you must care for each individual, and that is the most difficult task of understanding a new 180 individuals every year in the classroom and another 50 in the pool as a coach.
In academics as in athletics, it is crucial to develop all aspects of a lesson to hit the students in different ways. What I mean is the students need to be able to see the lesson visually, they need to be able to hear the lesson, they need to be able to read the lesson, and most importantly, they need to be able to interact with the lesson and each other through the lesson. This immersion in the senses is most crucial to be able to target each different individual in the class. Accommodations and modifications are always need as the difference in each student is a unique quality they have as an individual.
